Massage is not just a treat – it’s a treatment! Think that massage is just a nice way to pamper yourself? Think again! Massage is a powerful and effective way of encouraging relaxation and reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. It increases flexibility and range of movement and improves rehabilitation after injury or post-operatively. Massage can be beneficial for many different health conditions and each treatment is tailored to your individual needs. It has been found to be effective in a wide range of health problems including, but not limited to back and neck pain, Fibromyalgia, Sciatica, Plantar Fasciitis, Whiplash, aches and pains, headaches, migraines, depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, recent/ongoing injuries, repetitive strain injury and post-natal depression.

There are different types of massage. Deep tissue massage uses the same strokes as classic massage therapy, but the pressure is deeper and more concentrated on areas of tension and pain, breaking down adhesions, relieving pain and restoring range of movement. Sports massage therapy is not just for the sports man or woman. While it does help prepare athletes pre or post event, it is also used for anyone with similar problems. Trigger point massage is used to work out ‘knots’ or tight areas deep within a muscle. These ‘knots’ can cause referred pain in other areas of the body. At Revival and Survival Massage Therapy Clinic a combination of all massage types is used.
